Sand Skiing is one of the few activities we enjoy more than snow skiing. Since the mid eighties we've made an annual trek to the Great Sand Dunes National Monument in southern Colorado. We time our trip to coincide with the harvest moon, and ski about 5 or 6 hours under the full moon and 3 or 4 under the sun. Hanging out on the riverside beaches and hiking in the San Juan mountains round out the trips.
